Overview/Mission
At Mobile Anesthesiologists®, we believe that office-based anesthesia is beneficial for both the physician and the patient. Physicians find office-based anesthesia more convenient and cost effective, and it allows them to handle caseloads more efficiently. Patients, on the other hand, encounter a less intimidating environment and preserve a sense of privacy they would not necessarily experience in a hospital setting.
Encompassing our mission are both professional and public obligations to advance the practice of office-based and ambulatory anesthesia by focusing on the following three objectives.
Mentoring the practice of office-based and ambulatory anesthesia
- To offer our anesthesiologist partners the opportunity to utilize Mobile's proprietary clinical pathways, methodologies, and policies and procedures.
- To assist our physician clients in achieving accreditation status in their facilities.
- To help develop academic programs offering anesthesia residents' education in the challenges and nuances of office-based and ambulatory anesthesia.
Helping to set policy and guide legislation
- To work with the state regulatory agencies, state legislatures, and accreditation bodies in order to achieve high or higher a standard of care in the ambulatory and office-based setting as currently exists in hospitals
- To continue working with the payer community to recognize the efficacy of office-based surgery in helping contain the rising cost of medicine while maintaining the highest level of patient safety and standards of care.
- To continue to help develop the increasing number of surgical/medical procedures that can safely migrate to the office setting.
Serving the public interests
- To educate the public regarding who provides anesthesia in the office-based and ambulatory settings and what appropriate information they should seek in that regard.
- To develop truly mobile surgical facilities, meeting all licensure and accreditation guidelines, while serving the needs of the remote, isolated, and rural communities.
- To provide charitable services for the uninsured, underinsured, and underserved population.
